FORNEY HIGH SCHOOL BAND
2008-2009
This past week we got
notice that our Forney Percussion
students have been selected to perform at the State Capitol on March
10, 2009 for the Texas Arts Education Day sponsored by the
Texas Coalition for the Arts. Way to go!
Mr. Luna was awarded a $3,000 grant from the
Forney Education Foundation to purchase
steel drums for the percussion program!

David Daniel is seen
above performing his 2008 Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps solo.
Percussionist Nick
Rothouse was chosen as one of 256 Outstanding Performers at the
annual UIL Texas State Solo and Ensemble contest held at the University
of Texas Austin over the Memorial Day weekend. Nick was chosen as
one of the Outstanding performers from the pool of 85,000 students that
participated. His award is equivalent to being named a State
Champion! Congrats! Nick's private lesson teachers are
Shannon Jacobs and Mike Mathew.
Matt Fields was chosen as Oustanding Bass Drumline member at the annual
week long University of North Texas Drumline camp. He was
selected as a member of the A drumline during the week long camp. |
