UTA Music department offering free All-state clinic
The UT Arlington Department of Music will be offering a TMEA All-State Music Clinic on Saturday morning, November 20th. I hope you will take a moment and call this to the attention of your students. The event is free and open to students in grades 9-12.
We are pleased to tell you that all sessions will be led by our UTA Music
Flute- Dr. Sarah Frisof
Oboe- Rogene Russell (Fort Worth Symphony/Fine Arts Chamber Players)
Bassoon- Dr. Scott Pool
Clarinet/Bass Clarinet- Dr. Carol Jessup/Deb Fabian (Dallas Wind Symphony)
Saxophone- Tim Ishii
Trumpet- Dr. Rick Bogard (Dallas Opera Orchestra)
Horn- Heather Test
Trombone/Bass Trombone- Dr. Matthew Luttrell
Euphonium- Jeremy McBride
Tuba- Ed Jones (Fort Worth Symphony)
Percussion- Dr. Michael Varner/Jim Yakas
This morning clinic will last 90-minutes and with one hour devoted to the region/all-state music and the remaining time dealing with special instrumental problems such as fixing reeds, ensemble playing, tone and intonation, etc.
The schedule for the day is:
BASSOON, SAXOPHONE, CLARINET, BASS CLARINET, EUPHONIUM, TUBA 8:30am registration; clinic 9am-10:30am
FLUTE, OBOE, TRUMPET, HORN, TROMBONE, PERCUSSION 10:30am registration; clinic 11am-12:30pm
Pre-registration may be done via email or on the web. If you like, you may collect names of students planning to attend and send their names, instruments, grade and email to me via email in one list. Please ensure that students on you list do intend to come and are not simply a ³maybe.² Students are welcome to come ³at the last minute² and register on site that morning as well.
